The main premise of the game is to be dealt cards adding up to twenty one. Each black jack player is handed 2 cards. When a gambler is handed a 9 or lower value card and an Ace they have been handed a soft hand. When the gambler receives no Ace it is called as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been given to all players at the table, including the dealer, every gambler is given the chance to make 1 of 6 decisions:

Taking another card (Hit): When a player announces hit me the croupier will give them another card, if the adding of that card makes the value of the hand to exceed twenty-one the black jack player will have lost and be excluded from the game, if the card pushes the value of the hand to twenty one the player is the winner and if the value of the hand hasn’t yet reached 21 they’re still in the game.

Keeping the hand you have been given: If a blackjack player is happy with the hand they’ll hold. As soon as this has happened the dealer will show his/her hand and the blackjack player who has accumulated twenty one or the nearest to 21 will come away with a win.

Doubling Down: A gambler may request to double down which increases the bet by one hundred percent they have laid. As soon as you have taken this action you can only receive 1 additional card. The details of doubling down are usually out lined by the blackjack table or casino rules so prior to wagering be certain you’re at ease with the house rules. If you are competing at a net casino this is normally very simple.
